The Aer Lingus Board met at its regular meeting in Dublin yesterday, and was briefed on the serious trading position facing the airline. The Board reviewed the work prepared to date by Management in addressing the impact on the business of the recent tragic events in the USA.

A spokesman for the Company said the Board would be kept fully briefed on the ongoing effects on the business and the measures being taken in the light of the very difficult trading environment.

He indicated that the Company had no further comment to make at this time.
