Aer Lingus won two top awards in the innovative “Business Travel” Readers` Awards 2001.
This is the first time that Irish business and frequent travellers have been offered the opportunity to select their choice of travel supply companies through a truly independent voting system offered by “Business Travel”, a specialist magazine circulating principally among the corporate business and frequent traveller community.
The awards were presented to Mark Mortell, Commercial Director, Aer Lingus by the Minister for Consumer Affairs, Tom Kitt, TD.
The awards received by Aer Lingus were :
* The Best Ireland-Europe Airline
* The Best Frequent Traveller Programme
Commenting on the award, Aer Lingus Commercial Director, Mark Mortell said “The award was a recognition of the team effort which has made the airline into a more competitive and customer focused business. It is really a tribute to the Aer Lingus staff who operate in a fiercely competitive marketplace. The investment in new aircraft, and the continuing upgrading of our product and services is being recognised by our customers but the challenge is to continue to provide a better level of service which clearly differentiates Aer Lingus from our competitors”, said Mr Mortell.
