Aer Lingus And Iberia To Codeshare

From 1st April, Aer Lingus and Spanish National carrier Iberia will codeshare on flights between Ireland and Spain. Aer Lingus will operate a daily flight to the Spanish Capital Madrid using its fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, while Iberia will also operate a daily flight to Madrid plus a daily flight to Barcelona using its fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.

Under the codeshare, Iberia will place their flight number on the Aer Lingus service to Madrid, while Aer Lingus will place their flight number on both the Iberia Madrid and Barcelona services.

In addition to the three daily direct services, from May, the codeshare will be extended to include connections from Cork and Shannon through Dublin and Madrid to other Spanish domestic destinations such as Alicante, Malaga and Seville.

“This codeshare now gives the customer greater choice of schedule with a combined frequency of two daily Dublin Madrid flights throughout the summer, with our oneworld partner Iberia” said Seamus Kearney, Head of Sales and Marketing - Europe, Aer Lingus. “Through our oneworld membership, customers can expect the same levels of service and care when travelling with a oneworld partner as they do with Aer Lingus”
