Agents Flock For Virgin Cash

The take up of Virgin Atlantic`s scheme to offer cash incentives to travel trade staff has been overwhelming, the airline announced today.
In the two weeks since it launched over a quarter of travel agents who received details have signed up for the deal that gives their staff the chance to earn real cash when booking Virgin Atlantic flights.

Paul Wait, Virgin Atlantic`s General Manager of Sales said:

“We`re delighted. We knew the scheme would be popular with the trade because we work closely with them, but this take up has exceeded all our expectations.

“Under the new scheme travel agent staff earn up to £40 cash per return fare from Virgin giving them the opportunity to boost their income significantly.”
Virgin`s new scheme, which is for bookings made before 28 February 2002 for travel taken before 30 April 2002, comes on top of its pledge to keep Travel Agent commission at a steady 7%.
Angus Struthers, Virgin Atlantic`s Direct Marketing and Promotion Manager said of the response:

“Our mailings always create a great deal of interest but the fulfilment on this scheme has been nothing short of phenomenal. It shows that our sales team is really in touch with feelings within the trade and has found a scheme to make Christmas a happy and profitable time for everyone involved.”
