Strategic Cooperation Between Lufthansa And T-Online

Additional online ticket counter
Lufthansa and T-Online International will shortly present a joint Internet flight reserva-tions platform for private and business travellers. Online scheduled flight bookings will be integrated in the T-Online portals.
The site will also deliver selected Lufthansa serv-ices, among them information on the Miles & More frequent flyer programme, departure and arrival times at more than 200 Lufthansa destination, and the timetable. The con-tent will gradually be expanded during the course of this year to provide an even wider array of information and services. The products of other providers, such as car rental companies or hotels, are to be offered as well.
A memorandum of understanding on the strategic online co-operation was signed by Lufthansa and T-Online in July. “With this virtual ticketing counter, we are harnessing one of the major online sales outlets in Germany. This is a significant advance in further expansion of our online sales,” commented Thierry Antinori, Executive Vice President Sales Lufthansa German Airlines.

“T-Online is extending its e-commerce in the travel sector with this common platform,” said T-Online Executive Ralf Eck. “Its excellent content will ideally augment our new B2B portal. It will additionally enable us to increase our e-commerce sales.”

The two partners in the co-operative venture have commissioned Lufthansa
E-Commerce (LHE) to handle the design, technical implementation and operation of the new web-based ticket booking counter. LHE is also responsible for ongoing develop-ment of the portal and partner management of additional service providers.
