Gulf Air And Kuwait Airways Discuss Joint Cooperation

The Chief Executive of Gulf Air, Ibrahim Abdulla AlHamer and the Board Chairman and Managing Director of Kuwait Airways, Ahmed Faisal Al Zaben discussed the development of cooperation between the two airlines in a meeting recently.

The coordination of air transport services in the region, and development of commercial agreements for the benefit of both carriers and passengers was discussed.

Cooperation in the area of passenger services, aircraft maintenance, leasing, staff and pilot training was also reviewed, as well as the development of joint marketing programmes and policies within the Gulf and on a pan-Arab and international stage.

Mr. AlHamer said: “I was particularly pleased with the meeting which covered a number of areas of possible cooperation between the two airlines. We have agreed to form a joint committee from both carriers for boosting and implementing bilateral cooperation programmes.

“Cooperation between Gulf carriers is critical, as strategic alliances between international airlines become more and more commonplace. Such co-operation can have positive effects in terms of providing better services for passengers, reducing costs and optimising the integrated use of resources.”
