Aeroflot and Air France Sign a Code-share Agreement

The Chairman and CEO of Air France, Jean-Cyril Spinetta, and the Chairman and CEO of Aeroflot Russian Airlines, Valeri Okulov, today signed a code-share agreement between the two airlines on services to and from Moscow and Paris.
As from 01 October this year, the two airlines will jointly offer 6 daily services between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Moscow-Sheremetievo, instead of the 3 separate services which each airline has been operating up to now. These flights will be shared between the two airlines, which will have a quota of seats on each aircraft.
The flights operated by Aeroflot will be by Airbus A310 or Boeing 737-400, equipped with First Class (on selected flights only), Business and Economy. The Air France flights will be operated by Airbus A320s, with three classes.
This agreement will enable us to provide the best possible service for the customers of our two airlines, by doubling the number of services offered between Paris and MoscowÈ, said Jean-Cyril Spinetta and Valeri Okulov. Air France and Aeroflot share the same terminal at Moscow - Sheremetievo airport terminal 2. At Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Aeroflot`s flights will now leave from and arrive at terminal 2B. The agreement also includes a future coordination of schedules between the two airlines and the development of connecting opportunities at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Sheremetievo. Finally, the Fréquence Plus Air France and Aeroflot Bonus frequent flyer programs will be linked and harmonized.
The code-share agreement signed today comes as part of the bilateral agreement signed in 1997 between Aeroflot and Air France.
Aeroflot flies to 103 destinations in 54 countries. During 2001, it carried 5.8 million passengers and generated traffic revenue of 41.5 billion RUR, for a net income of 1.3 billion RUR according to Russian Accounting Standard. (1 Euro = 31, 7 RUR).

Air France flies to 191 destinations in 85 countries. During 2001/02, it carried 43.3 million passengers and generated turnover of 12.53 billion euros, for an operating income of 235 million euros and a Group net income of 153 million euros.
