KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced several appointments at KLM Corporate Communications today.
Effective October 1, 2001, Jan Christiaan Hellendoorn (39) has been named to succeed Ron C.J. Wunderink (61) as vice president - Corporate Communications.
Mr. Wunderink will retire from KLM and will join Amstelveen-based Result/DDB advertising agency as communications consultant.
Mr. Hellendoorn, currently vice president - Cabin Crew at Transavia airlines, will join KLM at an earlier date. Previous to his current position, Mr. Hellendoorn filled a variety of positions at KLM, including press officer at Corporate Communications, and managerial positions at Marketing and Cabin Crew.
In his new position, Mr. Hellendoorn will head up the Internal Communications, Media Relations, and Public Relations departments.
Effective April 1, 2001, Ms. Leonie A. van Mierlo (35) has been appointed director - Public Relations, Corporate Communications, responsible for international public relations, sponsoring, crisis communications, protocol and archive management. Following communications and marketing positions at various companies, Ms. Van Mierlo joined KLM The Netherlands in 1998 as manager - Marketing Communications.
Effective May 1, 2001, Mr. Frank F.W. Houben (29) has been appointed press officer, Media Relations, Corporate Communications. Mr. Houben joined KLM in 1998 as a management trainee after graduating in Law and Business Administration. He previously worked at the Recruitment department, responsible for coordinating KLM’s Corporate Management Traineeship program. Mr. Houben joins Hugo I. Baas and Bart L. H. Koster as KLM’s third corporate spokesperson.
The position of director - Internal Communications at Corporate Communications is currently vacant.
