Tejari.com, powered by Oracle® using the Oracle Exchange, was initiated by the Dubai Ports Authority and is owned by the Government of Dubai. The website is effectively a virtual supermarket where suppliers and buyers do their trading on-line and a real time basis.
Emirates joined Tejari.com last month in a move to improve efficiency and streamline the buying of non-aircraft items such as computers, stationery and furniture. The deal, signed at the GiTEX exhibition in Dubai, will allow Emirates to use the speed and convenience of the Internet to compare suppliers’ prices and performance guarantees and place orders while eliminating needless paperwork.
