Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAI.A and CAI.B) received an award for Best Business Airline on Transatlantic Services presented by U.K.-based Business Travel World magazine. The results were based on a record number of votes by travel agents, corporate travel managers and other industry executives.
Continental received the award for its BusinessFirst service—featuring one of the plushest premium cabins intended for business travelers. BusinessFirst is designed to provide hassle-free personal service including lounge facilities and concierge service.
On board, passengers have the option of a five-course meal or an executive meal with menu selections created by Continental`s Congress of Chefs. Also offered is an award-winning wine and champagne selection to complement the gourmet cuisine. The BusinessFirst cabin includes extra-wide electronic sleeper seats, adjustable winged headrests, and personal entertainment systems showing the latest movies and providing a variety of audio channels. Most recently BusinessFirst was introduced aboard Continental`s new Boeing 777 fleet, which is flying new routes from New York/Newark to Tokyo and Houston to Tokyo, and from New York/Newark to London. On the new Boeing 777 aircraft, BusinessFirst passengers also may take advantage of enhanced personal entertainment systems, telephone and laptop computer sockets in each seat and an espresso-cappuccino machine.
