Continental Airlines To Change Stock Symbol To CAL

Continental Airlines will change the stock symbol for its class B common stock from CAI.B to CAL, and will change the symbol for its class A common stock from CAI.A to CAL.A, effective May 4.

The company believes that changing the class B symbol to CAL will make it easier for investors to locate current information on its widely traded class B shares.

A group of Continental employees and executives will celebrate the stock symbol change on May 4 by ringing the closing bell and pounding the gavel at the New York Stock Exchange. The group will include Chairman and CEO Gordon Bethune, President and COO Greg Brenneman, Executive Vice President and CFO Larry Kellner, and Executive Vice President and General Counsel Jeff Smisek.
