Continental Airlines OnePass Program Takes Top Freddie Awards

Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL and CAL.A) OnePass frequent flyer program today garnered four of the top Freddie Awards, including “Program of the Year” and “Best Elite-Level Program,” during InsideFlyer`s 12th Annual Freddie Awards ceremony. The OnePass program also received the “Best Award” in recognition of its 25,000-mile reward from New York or Houston to Tokyo, as well as “Best Website” for 1999. Continental finished in the top three in every other category for which it was eligible.

“Receiving this recognition from the most frequent of flyers shows what can be accomplished when 51,359 dedicated men and women enjoy coming to work and take pride in what they do,” said Vice President of Marketing Mark Bergsrud. “The fact that Continental`s OnePass program has won more Freddies in the past 12 years than any other frequent flyer program is important because it means that our customers appreciate the benefits of OnePass membership.”

InsideFlyer`s Freddie Awards have become the oldest and most prestigious frequent flyer awards since their inception in 1988. This year, a total of 103,488 ballots were cast. The awards represent excellence in frequent travel programs and rate the best frequent flyer and frequent guest programs in eight different categories.
