Cathay Pacific Launches New First Class Equipment

Cathay Pacific Airways today launched a range of new high-quality equipment for its First Class passengers including chinaware, hollow-ware, cutlery, glassware, linen, and travel kits. The new equipment comes from some of the world`s leading designers including Noritake, De Ster.ACS, Schott Zweisel, Ewart Liddell, and Erno Laszlo. The launch is part of the overall enhancement of Cathay Pacific`s First Class which has already seen the introduction of flat beds, a personal cinema, and sleeper suits.
One of the highlights of the new equipment is the simple, modern chinaware from Japanese designer Noritake. The chinaware is named “Cosmic Splash” as it carries a white and silver motif echoing Cathay Pacific`s cabin interiors. It includes additions such as a Dim Sum basket, a Chinese Tea set, and Chinese Hot Pot enabling passengers to enjoy a variety of Chinese cuisine. The hollow-ware and cutlery are designed by Swedish manufacturer DeSter.ACS and are made of top-quality stainless steel.


The hollow-ware includes a silver coffee pot and champagne bucket. The lead-free crystal glassware is from Germany`s Schott Zweisel and includes a wine and water glass, champagne flute, brandy glass, liqueur glass, and tumbler. The all-white linen is designed by Ewart Liddell of Ireland. The new First Class travel kits are created by internationally renowned skincare company Erno Laszlo. A selection of Erno Laszlo products is packed in a elegant gift boxes. There are two versions: one for male and one for female passengers. Items inside include skin revitalisers and facial scrub.


“The introduction of this stylish and high-quality new First Class equipment will further enhance our First Class product,” said Tom Wright, Cathay Pacific`s General Manager, Inflight Services. “At Cathay Pacific we are dedicated to giving our customers the very inflight experience possible, which is why we are so pleased to work with these leading manufacturers.”
The new equipment will be introduced on Cathay Pacific aircraft flying to Hong Kong from today, and on all flights departing from Hong Kong from 5 May.


Cathay Pacific`s new First Class offers the ultimate beginning to end travel experience. In addition to flat beds and a personal cinema, the new First Class includes rice cookers and toasters from manufacturer Aerolux serving freshly prepared food. First Class dining is now a la carte as passengers can create their own meals from a specially designed menu and specify when they wish to eat.
