Cathay Pacific has been ranked top brand in Hong Kong and second in Asia in the Asia`s Top 20 Brands survey. The on-going online survey, which started 18 months ago, invited the public to vote for their favourite Asia brands through www.brandingasia.com. Voters also had to give their reasons for the selected brands. Top honours went to Sony Corporation.
Dr Paul Temporal, an academic and consultant in Strategic Marketing, Brand Management and Marketing Planning Systems said: “Cathay Pacific`s performance in this survey has been outstanding. In fact, the airline has moved up very quickly from 10th and 15th positions to one of the top 3 position.” He attributed the service experience enjoyed by voters as an important catalyst in pushing the Cathay Pacific brand.
Cathay Pacific`s General Manager Corporate Communication Alan Wong said: “We are delighted to be ranked top brand in Hong Kong and second in Asia. The Cathay Pacific brand is synonymous with Hong Kong and this honour will further enhance Hong Kong as Asia`s leading aviation hub. With our extensive network and distinctive Service Straight from the Heart, we have been able to reach out to the world and make our passengers` travel experience a very unique one.”
Cathay Pacific Airways has won numerous awards this year for its excellent service. They include Best Overall Airline in a survey held by Australia`s Luxury Travel Magazine; Best Airline - Business Class at the TTG Annual Travel Awards 2001 and the Top Service award in the airline category in a survey conducted by Next Magazine.
