Air Canada Reports Unconsolidated March Traffic

Air Canada flew 0.7 per cent more revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in March 1999 than in the same month of 1998, according to preliminary traffic figures. Traffic for March 1999 was 1,854 million RPMs compared to 1,841 million RPMs for the same period in 1998.
Total capacity for the month decreased by 1.5 per cent on a year-over-year basis. Total available seat miles (ASMs) for March 1999 were 2,598 million compared to 2,638 million in March 1998.


The network passenger load factor for March 1999 was 71.4 per cent, up 1.6 percentage points from the 69.8 per cent reported in March 1998.
System cargo traffic for the month was 71 million revenue ton miles, compared with 77 million revenue ton miles in March 1998.
