Air Canada And IAM Reach Tentative Agreement

Air Canada and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) announced today that a tentative contract agreement was reached on July 20, 1999. The agreement now requires ratification by the union`s membership, expected to be completed by the end of July.

The three year agreement, effective June 13, 1999, runs to June 22, 2002. The previous agreement expired June 12, 1999. The IAM represents approximately 8,400 maintenance, ramp, purchasing and cargo employees at Air Canada.
