Air Canada today confirmed that on July 31, 1999 the membership of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), the union representing the airline`s approximately 8,400 maintenance, ramp, purchasing and cargo employees, ratified a new collective agreement with the company. The three year agreement, effective June 13, 1999, runs to June 22, 2002. The previous agreement expired June 12, 1999.
