Air Canada Reports Unconsolidated August Traffic - Load Factor Improvement Continues -

Air Canada flew 2,655 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in August 1999, a decrease of 2.7 per cent from 2,729 million RPMs in August 1998.

The network passenger load factor for August 1999 was 81.1 per cent, up 2.4 percentage points from the 78.7 per cent reported in August 1998.
According to Danielle Poudrette, Vice President, Marketing, “Our strategy to reduce capacity is producing results in the form of better load factors. Our year-over-year load factor improvement is trending well, increasing from 1.7 percentage points in the 1st quarter of 1999 to over 2 percentage points in both July and August.”
System cargo traffic for the month rose 8.8 per cent to 74 million revenue ton miles.
