Star Alliance partners Air Canada and
Singapore Airlines announced today that they have implemented a codeshare
program that will provide their customers with additional options for travel
between Canada and Singapore.

Effective October 29, 2000, Air Canada will offer its customers daily
codeshare service on Singapore Airlines operated flights between London
Heathrow and Singapore and three times weekly service between Copenhagen and
Singapore.

Also starting October 29, 2000, Singapore Airlines will provide its
customers with daily codeshare service on Air Canada operated flights between
London Heathrow and Toronto and three times weekly service between Copenhagen
and Toronto.

“This first codeshare agreement with our new Star Alliance partner is the
initial step towards a comprehensive codeshare program between Canada and
Singapore, which will in the future offer our customers access to a variety of
destinations beyond the airlines` hubs,” said Danielle Poudrette, Air Canada
Vice President Marketing. “The implementation of the new codeshare program
will facilitate travel to this key area of South East Asia.”

Said Mr Huang Cheng Eng, Singapore Airlines` Senior Vice President
Marketing Planning: “We are pleased to announce the introduction of our
codeshare flights with Air Canada. This cooperation will enable us to offer
our passengers more travel options and hence, greater flexibility in making
their travel plans. In addition to our daily flights to Vancouver, our
customers now also have easy access to eastern Canada through Toronto.”

Customers will enjoy the usual Star Alliance benefits, including through
check-in, reciprocal lounge access as well as reciprocal qualifying bonus
mileage accumulation and redemption.  Singapore Airlines and its regional
subsidiary, SilkAir, fly to 90 destinations in 41 countries. The care and
attention that Singapore Airlines gives its customers, symbolized by the
Singapore Girl, has earned the Airline many industry and travel awards,
including Conde Nast Traveller`s Best International Airline award in 12 out of
the last 13 years. Singapore Airlines joined Star Alliance in April of this
year.
