Air Canada Extends Its Network To Russia
Air Canada announced today that it has expanded
its codeshare agreement with Star Alliance partner Lufthansa German Airlines
to include flights to and from Russia. Effective January 18, 2001, Air Canada
will offer its customers daily codeshare service on Lufthansa operated flights
between Frankfurt and Moscow as well as between Frankfurt and St-Petersburg.
“We are very pleased to offer our international customers improved access
to Moscow and St-Petersburg, two of Russia`s most important commercial
centres,” said Danielle Poudrette, Vice President, Marketing. “With the
addition of these two destinations to our transatlantic network, we are
building on our strong relationship with our Star Alliance partner Lufthansa
to provide our customers with additional choice for onward connections at
Lufthansa`s hub in Frankfurt.”
The codeshare flights will allow for the best possible connections in
Frankfurt to all Air Canada/Lufthansa joint flights to and from Montréal,
Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
Customers will enjoy the usual Star Alliance benefits, including through
check-in, lounge access as well as qualifying bonus mileage accumulation and
redemption.
