Air Canada Names Paul Brotto, Executive Vice President, Planning And Cost Management

Air Canada today named Paul Brotto, Executive
Vice President, Planning and Cost Management.

Brotto will be responsible for planning, prioritizing and supporting the
implementation of profit enhancing solutions and will focus on identifying the
opportunities to improve the company`s overall cost efficiency. As part of his
overall responsibility, Brotto will also be responsible for developing and
maintaining a comprehensive rolling five year Corporate plan.

“Now that the integration of Air Canada and Canadian Airlines is
complete, we must intensify our focus on controlling costs,” said Robert
Milton, President and CEO. “Most recently as President and CEO of Canadian
Airlines, Paul played a key role in turning Canadian around and restructuring
their debt. Paul will be returning to a role he is already familiar with at
Air Canada where he will lead the company`s efforts at maximizing the
synergies derived from the integration.”

Prior to being named President and CEO of Canadian Airlines, Brotto held
the position of Senior Vice President, Business Development at Air Canada with
overall responsibility for revenue enhancing and cost reducing initiatives.
During his 29-year career, Brotto has held a number of senior positions in
finance, marketing and sales including the positions of Vice President,
Finance & Treasury, Vice President Marketing and President and CEO of Air
Canada Vacations. His appointment is effective immediately.
