Air Canada Reports October Traffic

Air Canada flew 17.9 per cent less revenue
passenger miles (RPMs) in October 2001 than in October 2000, according to
preliminary traffic figures. Capacity declined by 16.7 per cent, resulting in
a load factor of 68.5 per cent, compared to 69.5 per cent in October 2000. Air
Canada`s rapid response to the falloff in demand limited the decline in the
system load factor to one percentage point.

The domestic load factor, at 75.0%, was up three points over last year as
the capacity reduction of 19.8% exceeded the 16.4% decrease in traffic.
