Daniel Weder Appointed SWISS Head of Cabin Crews

SWISS has appointed a new Head of Cabin Crews: Daniel Weder, 45, assumes his new position on Monday, July 15, succeeding Martin Guggi.  Weder is currently in charge of the company’s Ground Services Switzerland unit.

“I am convinced that Daniel Weder is an excellent choice as our new Head of Cabin Crews,” says Björn Näf, Executive Vice-President Product & Services and Weder’s superior.  “His appointment will provide us with the continuity we need, and will ensure that we can consistently and efficiently continue to implement and develop the measures introduced by Martin Guggi.”

Daniel Weder, who is 45 years old, brings 28 years of experience of the airline industry to his new position.  He previously held several management positions at Swissair including Head of Passenger Services, Head of Product and Head of Operations Control.  With the demise of Swissair, he moved to become Vice-President Ground Services Switzerland at Crossair, the predecessor to SWISS.  Weder has extensive experience in crisis and process management.  He also holds an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from the IMD in Lausanne.
“I am really looking forward to this new challenge in such a people-oriented environment,” Daniel Weder says, commenting on his new appointment.  “Ensuring continuity will be one of my prime concerns.  I’ll be in charge of a team of people who are in direct customer contact; and I’ll be doing everything I can to ensure that they are as motivated and enthusiastic as possible in performing their work.”
