American Is Giving TWA Aviators Members Up To One Year To Join Aadvantage And Exchange Their TWA Mil

FORT WORTH, Texas - As TWA’s Aviators® program comes to an end today, American Airlines reminds all Aviators members that they are still eligible to receive AAdvantage miles equal to the unused mileage balance remaining in their Aviators portfolios. More than one million Aviators members have already enrolled in American’s AAdvantage® program and have already exchanged their miles early.

All Aviators members who have flown with TWA over the past two years received a letter from American outlining the mileage exchange procedure.

Aviators members who were already members of the AAdvantage program and linked their two accounts will have any remaining, unused Aviator miles exchanged into AAdvantage miles early next week. Those who do not yet belong to the AAdvantage program can have their unused Aviator miles exchanged by simply enrolling in AAdvantage and then linking their Aviators portfolio to their AAdvantage account.

Aviators members with Internet access can enroll in the AAdvantage program, link their accounts and exchange their miles by visiting the Web site, www.aa.com/twainfo. They can also enroll and link by calling American’s AAdvantage Customer Service department at 1-800-882-8880.

Once the AAdvantage account is established and linked to the Aviators portfolio, the Aviators miles will be automatically exchanged into the AAdvantage account. Members will see the transaction posted on their next AAdvantage statement.

American said that any Aviators miles that are not exchanged for AAdvantage miles will remain in the Aviators portfolio and will be eligible to be exchanged for up to a year through November 30, 2002.

American Airlines looks forward to welcoming all remaining Aviators members into the AAdvantage program, the world`s largest and most innovative travel awards program.

About AAdvantage

American`s AAdvantage Travel Awards Program - the first and largest of its kind - began in May 1981 with 283,000 members and has grown to more than 43 million members worldwide. The AAdvantage program has more U.S. fliers than any other frequent traveler program, including the two most popular redemption options, AAnytime Awards® and PlanAAhead Awards®. AAnytime Awards, available “anytime, anyplace, anywhere” there is a vacant seat, carry no restrictions, such as limited seat availability or travel embargo dates. PlanAAhead Awards - best for times when customers can plan in advance - have restrictions, such as limited seat availability and some travel embargo dates, but can be claimed for fewer miles than AAnytime Awards.
