FORT WORTH, Texas - American Airlines Chairman and CEO Donald Carty will make a statement relating to the crash of Flight 587 at 11:45 a.m. CST today at American’s headquarters here before departing for New York with the American Airlines CARE team that will look after the needs of the families of those who perished as a result of today’s crash.

Mr. Carty will make his statement in the cafeteria of American’s corporate headquarters building at 4333 Amon Carter Boulevard, off Trinity Boulevard, just east of Texas Highway 360, in Fort Worth. Because of the flight departure schedule, Mr. Carty will have no time for questions, but anticipates being available in New York later on as more information becomes available.

American is posting the latest information on its Web site, and company representatives will continue to be available to respond to media inquiries.
