American Airlines To Begin Nonstop Service Between Fort Lauderdale And Caracas, Venezuela, On Dec. 1

MIAMI - American Airlines will begin nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and Caracas, Venezuela, on Dec. 15. The airline will serve the route five times each week with 134-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft featuring roomier coach cabins.

“Caracas, American’s first Latin American destination, is an important business center and this expansion in Latin America is part of our ongoing effort to enhance service to the region,” said Peter J. Dolara, American’s senior vice president for Miami, the Caribbean and Latin America. “And, with more legroom in the entire coach cabin, travelers will have a more comfortable travel experience.”

Currently, American flies to Caracas from Miami, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Juan and New York/JFK and serves 25 cities in Central and South America.

American and its regional affiliate, American Eagle, operate more than 260 daily flights from Miami to more than 80 destinations, including 43 points in the Caribbean and Latin America, and 20 daily flights to seven destinations from Fort Lauderdale.
