New Campaign Takes Flight

30th Sep 1998

British Airways launches a new global TV and print advertising campaign this week.

The campaign focuses on the airline’s drive to understand the individual needs of passengers through its people and services. Previous campaigns have emphasised the size and scale of the airline’s network.

The campaign breaks with two television commercial adverts in the UK on Sunday (October 4) supported by national press and bill board poster campaigns.

Full Monty star Robert Carlyle provides the voice over for both films created for the airline by M & C Saatchi and directed by Stuart Douglas whose credits include the Adidas “Beckham & Prince Naseem” commercials.

The first film, called “Garden”, highlights how telephone check-in enables customers to spend more time at home with their family at home . The second, called “Musical Chairs”, illustrates the skills and care needed to serve passengers in the air.

The press and bill board poster campaign highlights other key customer benefits like the speed of self-service check-in.
