Paddington Checks-In

2nd May 1998

Passengers flying on British Airways services from Heathrow with hand baggage only can now check-in at Paddington if they are travelling to the airport on the new Heathrow Express rail link.

The check-in desks are alongside platforms 6 and 7 at Paddington where the dedicated fast train departs. Passengers can check in now from 6am to 9pm.

The 400-seater 160km an hour trains run directly into Heathrow’s Central Terminal Area and Terminal 4 stations every 15 minutes. The journey takes just 15 minutes from Paddington to Heathrow and operates from 5am to 11.30pm.

The airline hopes to offer a full check-in service at Paddington for passengers with hold baggage from next Spring when a new purpose-built 27-desk check-in hall opens with an underground baggage system direct to the platform where bags will be placed in secure rail containers.
