British Airways has opened its first wine bar and sanctuary. Everything is free for members, who will also enjoy one of the best views in London.

These are just some of the facilities offered in the airline’s new Executive Club Lounge for UK domestic flyers at Heathrow’s Terminal 1, opened as part of British Airways’ multi million pound programme of improvements to its lounges worldwide.

The two-storey lounge, double the size of the previous facility, also features a library, business centre, showers, snack and coffee bars.

Offering panoramic views over the north runway at the world’s busiest international airport, it was designed by the London-based Davies Baron agency who were asked to create a modern, bright, less formal and more relaxed environment based on a “terrace” concept, giving the impression of space and light with an outdoors feel.
