New Purchasing Director Appointed

British Airways today announced the appointment of Bob Dick as its new Purchasing Director.

He takes up the new role with immediate effect, reporting to David Holmes, Director of Corporate Resources. He succeeds Jeannie Bevan who left the airline in January.

In this role, he will lead a team of 200 people and be responsible for purchasing ranging from new aircraft, computers and services, to food, wine and stationery.

As announced in February, he will continue to play a pivotal role in the airline’s major investment programme to equip the majority of its regional subsidiaries with new aircraft for the next millennium.

Aged 51, he has held senior positions within the purchasing field for more than twenty years, fourteen of which have been with British Airways as General Manager Engineering Purchasing and General Manager Air Trading. Previously, he worked as Head of Purchasing for Rank Xerox.
