Skiers Gear Up For New Salzburg Service

17th Nov 1999

British Airways’ new service to Salzburg takes off on Friday (19 November). The new flight will be the only non-stop scheduled air-link to the Austrian city.

The Boeing 737 will operate four times a week on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with prices from £135 (plus £24.90 tax and Passenger Service Charge) throughout the ski season.

The airline is teaming up with a number of ski holiday specialists as the new direct flight will cut up to three hours off the journey time for ski enthusiasts to resorts such as Zell am See, Bad Gastein and Saarbach.

It is also anticipated that demand for this service should be strong given Salzburg’s position as a growing European business centre for trade exhibitions, conferences and the automotive business.

Salzburg is geographically an ideal location for connections, not just to the whole of Western Austria, but also to Germany, Italy and Slovenia.
