Gurassa To Join Thomson Travel Group

British Airways announced today that Charles Gurassa, Director of Passenger and Cargo Business, is to leave the airline to take up a new position as Chief Executive Officer of Thomson Travel.

Commenting on his departure, Bob Ayling, British Airways Chief Executive, said: “Charles Gurassa has made a magnificent contribution to the airline and I am very pleased indeed that he has been appointed chief executive officer of Thomson Travel. He leaves with the affection and good wishes of all of his colleagues at British Airways.”

Gurassa, who joined the airline in 1989, held a number of positions, including head of the airline’s operations in the Americas and Director of World Sales, prior to taking up his current position in passenger business in January 1996.
