DTI Approves CityFlyer Deal

British Airways today welcomed the approval of the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry for its purchase of CityFlyer Express.


Last November, the airline announced it had reached conditional agreement to buy Gatwick-based CityFlyer Express for £75 million.


Bob Ayling, British Airways Chief Executive, said: “We are absolutely delighted with today`s news and look forward to completing the legal practicalities of the deal with CityFlyer`s investors in the coming weeks. We very much look forward to planning our futures together.”
