British Airways intends to launch this month a three times weekly service from London to Tripoli in Libya, subject to Government approval.

The services will be operated by Boeing 737s and are planned to depart London on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Commenting on this development, Bob Ayling, Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to launch services to Tripoli with its huge potential as an important business market and its prospects as a tourist destination.

“Our customers will benefit from the airline’s two class service to Tripoli featuring Club Europe, British Airways’ business class which offers speed on the ground in London together with access for business travellers to British Airways’ award-winning Executive Club lounges.”
