US Airways, TWU Agreement On Restructuring

ARLINGTON, Va., July 3, 2002—US Airways, Inc. and the Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) Local 545 have reached a tentative agreement on the company’s restructuring plan.

The agreement, which is subject to ratification by its membership, covers the union’s approximately 160 dispatchers and assistant dispatchers.

“Our ability to reach this comprehensive agreement with the TWU is a clear demonstration of their willingness and commitment to making US Airways a much stronger airline. We commend their leadership for working so hard to finalize this important agreement,” said US Airways Senior Vice President of Employee Relations Jerry A. Glass.

US Airways earlier this week reached a tentative agreement on its restructuring plan with the Association of Flight Attendants and continues discussions with its other unions, comprising the Air Line Pilots Association, International Association of Machinists, Communications Workers of America and the TWU’s flight crew training instructors and simulator engineers.
