Continental Begins All-Jet Service at Gulfport/Biloxi International

GULFPORT, Miss., July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/—“Continental Airlines(NYSE: CAL) today announced it will begin all-jet flying between
Gulfport/Biloxi International Airport and its Houston hub effective July 2,
when the last turboprop serving the route is upgraded to a Continental Express
regional jet.

  The new service aboard the fast, quiet Embraer ERJ-145 marks the latest
step toward an all-jet Continental Express fleet by the first quarter of 2003.
Continental and Continental Express currently offer four daily nonstop flights
between Houston and Gulfport/Biloxi, including one round-trip flight using the
ATR-42, a 46-seat turboprop with a cruise speed of 328 miles per hour.  The
flight is being upgraded to a 50-seat regional jet featuring comfortable aisle
and window seating, with no middle seats, and a cruise speed of 520 miles per
hour.

The new Continental Express regional jet flight will depart Houston
Intercontinental Airport at 1:15 p.m. and arrive at Gulfport/Biloxi at
2:45 p.m.  The return flight will depart Gulfport/Biloxi at 3:15 p.m. and
arrive at Houston at 4:47 p.m.
