A group of students have come up with a hair-brained scheme to raise cash for charity by persuading seven brave men to have their legs waxed!

The students, all on industrial placements at British Airways, came up with the idea in response to a challenge to get some coverage in BA News, the airline’s weekly newspaper, during their time with the company.

Seven suitably hirsute volunteers were found from various areas of the airline to have their gorilla-like legs stripped bare.

Group spokesperson Katherine Wells said: “If women can have the hairs ripped off their legs then it must be an easy hurdle to overcome for any real man!”

In addition to silky smooth legs, the Magnificent Seven of John Widdows, Patrick Floren, Jason Beamish Knight, Ken Lane, Mark Sexton, Mark Grossman and Tim Ractliffe will know that they are raising money for two good causes

The group is hoping to raise more than £2000 for Imperial Cancer Research and Rokesby Road, a respite care service for children with learning difficulties.

The leg waxing takes place on Monday 4 December at BA’s Waterside offices, opposite the Pavement Cafe, with the first screams expected at midday.
