New Service From Bristol To Munich

28th Sep 2000

Brymon Airways is to commence new daily services from Bristol to Munich on October 30, 2000.

The Munich services will use the British Airways subsidiary’s growing fleet of ERJ-145 regional jet aircraft, the fifth of which has just arrived in Bristol. The new route also connects with services to Glasgow, therefore providing a new air link between Glasgow and Munich.

Mike Coombes, General Manager Commercial at Brymon Airways, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce this new route so soon after launching our Frankfurt service, further strengthening the range of destinations we are able to offer from Bristol International.

“There has already been a high level of interest in services to Munich from both the leisure market and the business community in the West,” Mike Coombes added. “Munich is Germany’s third largest city and, in addition to being a major tourist destination, it is the country’s leading centre for the high-tech and media industries. Together with our Frankfurt services, the new Munich air route will help local companies to further develop their business links with Germany.”

Managing Director of Bristol International, John Parkin, welcomed this second German destination as a significant move forward for the airport. He said: “These are very exciting times for us, with two new European destinations launched from Bristol International in the space of just two months. This new direct Munich service underpins our role as a key player in the region`s economy, expanding our range of destinations and enabling our passengers to reach yet another top European destination directly.”

The Munich service will operate daily in each direction, except on Saturdays. Flights will depart from Bristol at 11.30 am, arriving at Munich at 2.40pm local time. Return flights will leave Munich at 3.20pm local time, arriving in Bristol at 4.30pm.

Brymon Airways is offering a special introductory fare of £99 return, fully inclusive of taxes, fees and charges, until December 31, 2000. The new service will offer the British Airways Club Europe and Euro Traveller products.
