Record Bank Holiday Getaway

It will be record bank holiday weekend for British Airways as almost three quarters of a million people check in for flights with the airline around the world.


From the UK alone, nearly 300,000 passengers will leave London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports, while nearly100,000 will leave from UK regional airports, including Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Birmingham.


Top longhaul destinations this weekend include New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. Popular shorthaul weekend breaks include Barcelona, Rome, Venice, Nice, Amsterdam, Prague, Vienna.


Last minute summer holiday sun seekers can still escape to destinations such as Paris, Madrid and Milan, or further afield to Denver, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston. Prices start from £66 to Paris, £165 to Madrid and £156 to Milan, £411 to Denver, £356 to Miami, £367 to Orlando, £332 to Tampa, £278 to Atlanta and £365 to Houston (plus taxes, fees and charges).


The airline’s children’s service will also see one of its busiest weekends when nearly 4,000 unaccompanied youngsters will pass through London Heathrow and London Gatwick as they return to school.
