Concorde Operations Suspended This Evening
Update at 6.40 pm BST
British Airways has taken the decision to cancel its two Concorde services tonight - the BA003 from Heathrow to New York and the BA004 in the other direction.
In a statement, the airline said:
“We have complete confidence in our Concorde aircraft and our Engineering.
“Nevertheless in these circumstances - and while information is still coming in - we have taken the unprecedented step of cancelling tonight’s flights.

“Passengers booked on these flights will be offered transfers to other subsonic aircraft.
“We will be holding discussions with our technical counterparts at Air France and reviewing tomorrow’s operations overnight. It is our intention to operate tomorrow’s services.
“A further statement will be issued tomorrow morning.
“British Airways’ first concern always is safety. All our aircraft are subject to continuing and exhaustive safety checks.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with our colleagues at Air France, and all those involved in this tragedy. We have already been in touch with Air France and offered any assistance we can provide.”
All British Airways services to and from Paris Charles de Gaulle have been cancelled for the rest of this evening.
