New Partnership Marketing Appointment

British Airways today (April 4) announced the appointment of Mary Thomas as its new General Manager for Commercial Partners.


Mary, 33, succeeds Robert Falkner, who is leaving the airline after 17 years during which he held a variety of posts including Chief Internal Auditor, Executive Vice President North America, General Manager, Asia Pacific and Group Chief Accountant. He is joining On Line Travel Corporation plc as Director of Finance


Mary joined British Airways in 1988 as a graduate trainee and has held a variety of posts. She was responsible for the re-positioning of Executive Club in 1995 and then went on to set up British Airways Travel Service, a membership programme for leisure customers. Most recently she managed the airline’s shorthaul brands, including the relaunch of Club Europe.


Her new role includes responsibility for all British Airways Partnership Marketing activity including financial cards, insurance, hotels, car hire, telecommunications and financial services. She will report to Martin George, Director of Marketing.
