Delta Express and Cartoon Network Celebrate “The Powerpuff Girls Movie”

ORLANDO, June 25, 2002—Delta Express, Delta’s low-fare carrier, and Cartoon Network today unveiled a redesigned Powerpuff Girls aircraft for customers, movie fans and children from the Orange County Parks & Recreation department’s “Klub Kid” summer camp program. The Boeing 737-200 aircraft will be used to promote the July 3 release of the first Powerpuff Girls feature length movie titled, “The Powerpuff Girls Movie.”

As part of the celebration, the Powerpuff Girls will greet the “Klub Kid” participants at Delta Express Gate 91 in Orlando International Airport. Delta Express will fly the children on a brief tour of the Orlando area aboard “The Powerpuff Girls Movie” aircraft. Special Powerpuff Girls-themed activities and gifts will be provided during the flight.

“As Florida’s airline, Delta Express is delighted to unveil this unique aircraft to the Orlando community,” said Maureen Brady, managing director - Delta Express and Delta Shuttle. “This is the only way customers and cartoon fans alike can actually fly with Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup.”

Customers traveling on board Delta Express’ “The Powerpuff Girls Movie” aircraft now through July 1 will receive promotional giveaways from the Cartoon Network, including a set of temporary tattoos and activity sheets. Additionally, the Airport Network, featured throughout many Delta Express concourses, will showcase behind-the-scenes footage from the making of “The Powerpuff Girls Movie,” as well as the film’s trailer.

“The Powerpuff Girls Movie” follows the adventures of three super-powered sisters - Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup - who frequently ask to be excused from school so they can save the world. Based on the popular Cartoon Network series, “The Powerpuff Girls Movie” tells the story of how the sisters were created by Professor Utonium who has to teach them the awesome responsibility that goes along
with having superpowers. Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup must join forces to save their home of Townsville from falling into the clutches of mutant monkey, Mojo Jojo.

The Delta Express Powerpuff Girls aircraft features a movie-themed design on the interior and exterior of the plane. The B737-200 was originally painted with the Powerpuff Girls livery in July 2000, and marked the first time Delta Express featured another brand on its aircraft.
