At today’s Board meeting, it was decided that in light of the current difficult trading environment, it was appropriate for British Airways to make clear that no dividend would be paid in respect of the results for the six months to September 30, 2001. The formal announcement of those results is scheduled for November 6, 2001.

Unless market and trading circumstances improve materially in the coming months it is unlikely that a final dividend will be paid.
