`US Airways Door-To-Door` Offers New Online Service For U.S. Shippers

21st Jun 2002

ARLINGTON, Va., June 20, 2002—US Airways has launched a new online cargo service for small and medium-sized shippers in the U.S., combining competitive pricing with a choice of reliable delivery options.

Called US Airways Door-to-Door, the product integrates flights with freight trucking operations to offer seamless service between pick-up and delivery points anywhere in the U.S., including Hawaii and Alaska.

Providing six levels of service options, US Airways Door-to-Door has been developed in association with the global network service provider, Integres Global Logistics Inc., a web-based freight forwarding company based in Rancho Cordova, Calif.

Starting today, shippers may access the new service by logging on at usairwaysDoor ToDoor.com or via a link from usairwayscargo.com. All shippers registering for the service must comply with Federal Aviation Administration mandated security requirements.

US Airways Door-to-Door is designed to offer shipping for freight of any weight above 75 pounds, with a monitoring system that tracks the progress of consignments, from pick-up to delivery. Shippers may choose from any of six service options, from next flight delivery, to three-to-five day shipment.

“US Airways Door-to-Door is a highly cost-effective solution for small and medium-sized shippers, offering pricing advantages similar to those enjoyed by larger, high-volume companies,” said Steven Tracas, US Airways vice president of sales. “Our new product also offers personalized service, tailored to each of our customers.”

“Shippers now have the ability to initiate all of their cargo transactions in one place, and contact is maintained with customers throughout the delivery process until each shipment arrives at its destination.”

US Airways, the US Airways Express carriers and US Airways Shuttle provide service to 203 destinations worldwide, including 38 states in the U.S., Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Bermuda, Cancun, Grand Bahama Island, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Nassau, San Juan, Santo Domingo, St. Lucia, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and St. Croix. US Airways Express also serves North Eleuthera, Governors Harbour, Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay from Florida. In Canada, US Airways serves Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa. US Airways’ European destinations are Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Manchester, Munich, Paris and Rome.
