The long-serving chief of Egyptair has been pushed out of his job by his bosses at the Egyptian government in a shake-up designed to restore confidence in the country`s flag-flying airline.

Mohamed Fahim Rayan, a former pilot who has held the top post for almost twenty years, has been replaced by Ahmed al-Nahdi.
