Due to a planned general strike in Spain on Thursday 20th June, British Airways is expecting disruption to some of its Spanish flights.

We apologise to our passengers for any disruption but this is a situation beyond our control.

In total, we have cancelled 28 flights out of a total of our 58 daily flights to and from Spain:-

Three return flights between London Gatwick and Madrid (BA2464/5; BA2466/7; BA2468/9)
One return flight and two additional single flights between London Gatwick and Barcelona (BA2485; BA2486/7: BA2490) One return flight between London Gatwick and Bilbao (BA2478/9). One return flight between Manchester and Madrid (BA1640/1)

Where possible, we will be operating larger aircraft to accommodate those passengers from cancelled flights.

British Airways will either re-book its customers affected by the cancellations on the next available flight or offer vouchers to the value of their tickets which can be used on future British Airways travel or exchanged for a refund.

Further disruption is possible and customers are being advised to telephone the airline on 0845 7799977 to check the latest status of flights or to visit the website -
