Southwest Airlines Names New Area Marketing Manager for Dallas Region

DALLAS, June 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/—Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV)
recently announced Sharon Thompson as the new Area Marketing Manager for the
Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

As Area Marketing Manager, her primary responsibilities will involve
corporate sales, special promotions, community relations, and some media
relations.  Thompson is a Dallas native and a graduate of Baylor University.
“I am looking forward to new challenges and to further promoting Southwest
as the hometown airline of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex,” said Thompson.

Thompson joined the Southwest family nearly four years ago first as a
Customer Service Agent and then as an Operations Agent in Albuquerque before
joining the Chicago marketing team as a Marketing Representative.  As
Marketing Representative, her primary responsibilities included inside sales
and brand enhancement efforts.

“Sharon`s hard work, dedication, and overall knowledge of the airline
industry has opened the door for her promotion to area marketing manager,”
said Irene Riddle, Southwest`s District Marketing Manager.  “She brings a
great deal of valuable experience and Southwest Spirit with her.”  Thompson
joins Allison Hunt and Jonna DePinto on the Dallas marketing team.

Southwest Airlines, the fourth largest carrier in terms of Customers
boarded currently serves 59 airports in 58 cities.  The Dallas-based airline
employs more than 34,000 Employees nationwide and operates more than
2,800 flights each day.
