Spirit Airlines Releases April May 2002 Traffic Results

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (June 10, 2002) - Spirit Airlines reports May 2002 traffic figures with 306,389 passengers carried for the month, an increase of 6.8 percent from the same period in 2001. System-wide, Spirit currently operates 100 flights daily with a 70.5 percent load factor for the month of May 2002 and a year-to-date load factor of 72.3 percent.
“Load factor decreased this month, however, Spirit’s overall traffic is solid and continues an upward trend with new service that launched this month to Denver and additional flights for nearly all of our destinations,” said Tom Anderson, chief marketing officer of Spirit Airlines.
Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) of 316,611 increased 10.7 percent for the month as compared to the same time period in 2001 while Available Seat Miles (ASMs) of 449,384 increased 17.5 percent.
