United Airlines has its Best Operational Month in the Company`s 76 Year History


CHICAGO, June 6, 2002 - United Airlines (NYSE: UAL) today announced that in the month of May, the company had its best-ever operational month.


In May, United completed 99.56% of its nearly 55,000 departures and overall, roughly 76 percent of the airline`s departures left exactly on-time or early.


“More of our flights are arriving on-time, departing on-time with fewer cancellations than we`ve ever seen,” said Andy Studdert, United`s executive vice president and chief operating officer. “Every month this year we`ve broken or tied at least one all-time performance record. With all of our employees pulling in the same direction, we`re able to provide our customers with the reliability and service they demand and deserve.”


United also had the fewest number of delays and cancellations related to its maintenance operations in the airline`s history in May.
