America West Initiates Service Between Its Las Vegas Hub and Mexico City


America West Airlines
(NYSE: AWA), Las Vegas` hometown airline, initiated nonstop service today
between its Las Vegas hub and Mexico City.  The airline is utilizing the
Airbus A320 featuring seating for 12 in First Class and 138 in the main cabin
for the nonstop roundtrip flights which operate four days a week.

“We`re pleased to be providing this new international nonstop service that
has been lacking between McCarran International Airport and Mexico City,” said
Scott Kirby, executive vice president, sales and marketing.

America West has announced new service for six markets from its Las Vegas
hub this year.  They are: Raleigh-Durham, N.C., which begins today;
Colorado Springs which began Feb. 27; Salt Lake City which started on May 1;
and Fresno and Santa Barbara, Calif. which will begin on Aug. 1.
